Internships

CITD IT Internship

FPD in partnership with a reputable Information Technology (IT) organization provides in-depth practical experience for IT graduates. We provided full time placement opportunities for them at well-functioning organizations, with a solid mentorship and skills development support structure designed to ensure the IT interns achieve success and grow into productive, competent IT professionals for the future.

The program aims to contribute towards decreasing unemployment and IT skills shortages in South Africa by nurturing savvy, competent IT professionals who increase their post qualification job prospects and employability.

Operational Model

  • Working together with local educational institutions, FPD identifies and screens promising IT graduates.
  • Interviews are conducted to determine the quality of the candidates and successful candidates are then matched with organizations requirements.
  • Successful candidates are then placed within retail stores, such as Vodacom and Vodacom 4U for a period of 12 months.

Work Experience Internships

For People with Disabilities

FPD received funding from HWSETA to establish the Work Experience Internship for people with disabilities in 2013.

With this funding FPD has placed a total number of 17 learners within FPD and partner health districts for a 12-month work experience internship. This opportunity was extended to disabled young people who have post matric qualifications but are struggling to find employment.

The programme was a great success and the interns' contracts are coming to an end at the end of April 2014.

FET Graduate Internship Programme
