ASAP

Through US Agency for International Development’s (USAID’s) Accelerating Support to Advanced Local Partners (ASAP) project, FPD supports IntraHealth International and partners to work with sub-Saharan countries in Africa to rapidly prepare local organizations and government entities to serve as prime partners for USAID and U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) programming, including by strengthening their capabilities and resources to address HIV within their populations. FPD’s primary focus areas include provision of country-tailored training, regional e-learning scholarship programmes, and secretariat services for Local Partner-led Communities of Practice.

So far under ASAP, FPD and consortium partners, Sustainable Solutions and DAI / Deloitte, have trained over 2,250 beneficiaries from 36 countries, on various management, financial compliance, public financial management, M&E and COVID-related courses mostly in on-demand eLearning and virtual classroom settings (97% trained via on-demand or virtual classroom). We have organized over 57 Community of Practice meetings for seven communities in English, French, and Portuguese languages to provide peer-to-peer learning opportunities for local partners, benefiting 2044 attendants from 39 countries.
