The FPD Research Unit, together with FIND, the global alliance for diagnostics is doing a field evaluation of a new rapid test for gonorrhoea. In this project, health workers were trained on how to use the test and interpret the results. Five rural facilities are participating in the study in East London, South Africa. The study will inform the performance of the lateral flow tests in the diagnosis of gonorrhoea. This will help us finalize the development of the diagnostic to be ready for the market in the upcoming years.
